Although the COVID-19 pandemic introduced a new form of isolation, social interactions and togetherness has become more important than ever. At The Village Hive, we aim to not only provide a great place to conduct business, but also to help bring our community together. By providing an interactive workspace, our coworking members can build off of each other, making for a more collaborative and productive work environment. 

 

 

As part of our effort to strengthen The Village Hive coworking community, we love to feature our members, giving us a chance to introduce you to the wonderful folks in our community. We have so many amazing members at our 3 locations, they each deserve a chance to shine! 

 

For this week’s blog, we interviewed Tony Yu, a member of The Village Hive Eglinton in midtown Toronto. 

 

What do you do?

I’m a management consultant. I am the Principal at Sense & Nous

What inspires your work?

Good clients who like to have fun on projects as much as I do.

How did you get into this profession?

I stumbled into the profession. I wanted to get into marketing years ago so I started a marketing internship at a consulting firm. Over time, I transitioned into the consultant role and ended up starting my own consulting firm a few years ago. 

What’s a valuable life lesson that you’ve learned recently?

Life is too short to not work on something you don’t enjoy.

What is your superpower?

Excavation.  I am good at digging for how people really feel about a situation. 

Do you speak any other languages?

Yes, body language!

What’s your favourite hot beverage?

Coffee.

What’s your favourite restaurant/thing to do in the area?

Running on the various trails and paths in mid-town Toronto.

What do you do when you’re not here coworking?

Co-working with my 6 y/o at the dinner table. 

What is your favourite thing about TVH Eglinton?

Mitch, of course. (Mitch is our Community Manager at our Eglinton location )

Anything else you want to share?

TVH Eglinton is a fantastic community and Mitch takes great care of nurturing this group.  I am grateful for an amazing place where I can focus and be inspired by other community members.
