The honey at our Hive comes from the people who make up our community.
Coworking spaces brings many different people from different industries together. We’re not just about the people that spend time working in our spaces each day – although that is a big part of who we serve – we also provide a place for entrepreneurs to connect with other entrepreneurs through monthly Hive lunches, special member events and online through our Hive members Facebook group and Slack Channel which connects our members from all three of our coworking locations in the GTA – Markham, North York (Duncan Mill) and Toronto (Eglinton).
We are delighted to bring to you this month’s Member Spotlight from The Village Hive Markham community!
Meet Erin Crawford, Homeopath – The Invisible Forest
Tell us about your profession. What type of clients do you serve?
Homeopathy is a system of natural medicine that has been in use worldwide for over 200 years. It is recognized by the World Health Organization as the 2nd most widely used therapeutic system in the world.
As a registered homeopath with the Ontario College of Homeopaths, I have a family practice established in Markham where all are welcome and I have special interest in women’s health and children’s issues. Patients come in for all sorts of acute and chronic conditions, from infertility to breastfeeding to temper tantrums to menopause, and for all the things in between like colds and flu, trouble sleeping, PMS and anxiety, just to name a few!
What inspires the work you do?
I have always loved helping others and I am continually amazed by the power of homeopathy to heal. Especially now though, as our health care system is facing a crisis, alternative modalities are becoming more and more important to help those who can’t find support elsewhere.
Do you have a favourite restaurant that you like to go to in the GTA?
Main St. Markham has really grown over the last few years and we have some amazing local restaurants. No matter what the craving, you can find somewhere delicious to dine on Main Street.
Do you have a morning routine?
I have three kids who all have to get out the door in the morning to school, plus a very rambunctious Labrador, so I have as much of a morning routine that is possible in that scenario! I do try to find time to sit and have my tea each morning, and then after that, I feel like I can tackle the day.
What do you do when you’re not working?
Family time is important to me. And beyond that, I am an avid reader and knitter. I enjoy spending time outdoors, working in the garden and walking the dog.
Why did you join The Village Hive? What are you hoping to get out of being a member?
I joined the The Village Hive to connect with others in my local community, build connections, and develop relationships. It’s a great place to get to know people and find ways that we can help one another. I especially appreciate the Member Lunch. It gets me away from my desk and gives me that chance to eat and socialize, what could be better?
How do people get in touch with you if they need your services?
I’d love to hear from people, and discovery calls are free! In a complimentary discovery call, we can chat about what’s going on and get to know one another a bit more to see if I might be a good fit for you. You can find my email and phone contact, and even book an appointment, all through my website or here:
