Coworking Member Spotlight – Meet Alex Cherednichenko

We’re back for another coworking member spotlight! It gives us great pleasure to introduce you to the incredible people who make up our Hive community.

Meet Alex Cherenichen who is from Ukraine and is now living in Canada. He spends his coworking days at our Eglinton location at The Village Hive in midtown Toronto.

Tell us about your profession. What type of clients do you serve?

I am a software engineer and tech entrepreneur. Over the last dozen years, I built and grew my own software consulting and services firm, sold it, and jumped on a bumpy road with two consecutive tech startups before ending up in Canada (quite unexpectedly) and switched to employment.

Currently, I’m a part of the C-Change Labs family. We fight climate change by giving architects and developers tools to account for embodied construction carbon. It is a bigger problem than gas in your tank or those airline tickets.

What inspires the work you do?

Making something small which can impact the lives of many people, and creating something out of nothing.

How did you get into this profession?

Loved computers even before it became mainstream and started yielding any money.

Do you have a favourite restaurant that you like to go to in midtown Toronto?

Not yet – I’m a newcomer – but super-happy to hear everyone’s recommendations.

What do you do when you’re not working?

Enjoy quality time with my family – but also I’m into hiking and film photography.

Why did you join The Village Hive? How is your experience so far?

Tried several coworking spaces in the vicinity, stuck here. Warm and cozy space, and ample space for chatting. Felt more like a nice office with friendly colleagues than a temp space.

How do people get in touch with you if they need your services?
