Built in the late 1840s, the olde schoolhouse in Markham Village was the first location of The Village Hive in 2016.

Full of history and charm, it provides the perfect space for local entrepreneurs and remote workers to come together to work, focus, and meet other like-minded individuals. It is a space for collaboration, sharing ideas and support.

If you need to rent a meeting space or small office on a regular basis our Hive Community Membership is the perfect option for you.

Our Hive Community Membership offers members the opportunity to book any of our meeting spaces through our online booking system on demand. Hive Community members receive a 20% discount on our boardrooms, podcast room and daily office as well as receiving all the community benefits and discounts from our partners and affiliates. Our Hive Community members are encouraged to join our members’ networking events and workshops.

Hi! I'm Charlotte, Founder of The Village Hive

Inspired by a beautiful heritage building in Markham Village, the desire to own my own business and a visit to a coworking space in Toronto, I opened the first coworking space in Markham, Ontario in 2016.

I had spent some time working from home in past job positions and and found it very hard to focus, was lonely, had too many distractions, and not to mention, no one to laugh at my jokes.

So The Village Hive was born. A place for entrepreneurs and remote workers to socialize, build relationships, and make genuine connections both personally and in business in this tech lonely world.

Like bees need a hive, people need a tribe. In 2020, I partnered with a property manager who owns commercial space in the GTA, and our second location, Duncan Mill Hive, was created. In January 2021, our third location, Eglinton Hive at Yonge + Eglinton opened.
